Polish Esport Cup

POLISH ESPORT CUP is a new esport initiative organized by Sport.pl, Actina and PACT. The reason for starting the tournament was to propose it to amateurs, so none of the participants was allowed to have a contract with a professional organization.

This is the largest online event of this type in Poland, with AGORA involved as a sponsor and mainstream publisher. Beside sport.pl, there were other partners such as our company, Gram.pl, Sferis.pl, and Actina Pact. The main commercial sponsors were AMD and MSI.

The event consisted of 3 online tournaments:

  • CS:GO 5vs5 League for SEMI PRO teams
  • CS:GO 2vs2 Wingman League for amateurs
  • VALORANT League, OPEN category

The entire event spun across three months: April, May and June 2020. We prepared more than 7000 participant stations. The awards were financial and material, worth over PLN 50,000, including two ACTINA supercomputers for tournament MVPs, worth ca. PLN 6000 each. In addition, as an incentive for audiences to watch, viewers could win a Steam code for a game every 5 minutes during the stream. We allocated 4000 codes to this purpose, with a total value of PLN 500,000.

Tournament coverage could be watched daily, from 11 May 2020, on 4 Twitch channels, as well as re-streaming on Sport.pl Facebook channel with nearly a million observers. Articles about the event were appearing every day, particularly on Sport.pl and gazeta.pl home pages. We delivered a total of over 400 h streams, and the 5vs5 CS:GO League finals, commentated by Janusz ‘SNAX’ Pogorzelski (a CS:GO, legend, the golden five Virtus Pro player), Mateusz ‘PAGO’ Pagowski (one of the most popular CS:GO streamers, not only in Poland), and Łukasz ‘Prawus’ Ganczewski (one of the most recognizable commentators, analysts and coaches in Poland) were watched by more than 4100 viewers at the peak.

The finals phase, in coordination with TWITCH on all the channels, was streamed on TWITCH home page. Polish Esport Cup 2020 took place within the framework of the #zostanwdomu (#stayathome) community program.
