We are checking out a workstation priced at PLN 90,000 at Folding@Home

Folding@Home is an initiative through which you can donate your computer’s performance to research on multiple diseases, including COVID-19.

In order to contribute to the project, we decided to build a workstation that will be working for the upcoming weeks for many medical projects.

It features two graphics cards: PNY NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000, an AMD Threadripper 3990X, ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha motherboard, 128 GB DDR4 from G.SKILL from its Trident Z line, 3600 MHz frequency, and a proprietary water cooling system with a CPU waterblock from EK.

The cost of this workstation, complete with 2 x 1300 W Platinum certified Antec power supply in be quiet! Silent Base 800, ranges around PLN 90,000, which makes it quite a treat for the researchers.

You are also strongly encouraged to share your PC performance with Folding@Home – the application will let you set the intensity threshold for acquisition of your resources. So you can launch it in the background even while you’re working, and you won’t even notice its activity.

If you’re interested in building a powerful workstation for yourself, contact us at komputery@actina.pl We will help you pick the right components for your application and we will design a PC set capable of meeting your expectations.
